Britney Spears, Keith Urban, Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate Olsen, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers! The list just goes on and on! It is hard to keep up with it.
Why are so many celebrities going into alcohol and drug rehab around the same time? Is having all these celebrities check themselves into clinics supposed to make it look cool or something? It almost looks fishy. Could it be a kind of ploy designed to get other people to needlessly turn themsleves into rehabilitation treatment and get tortured?
Alcohol and drug rehabilitation, in reality, is not a picnic. Rehab clinics are a type of hospital. The recidivism rates are high. Heroin addicts get put on methadone, another dangerous drug. Why do these celebrities get so much publicity when they turn thenselves into these clinics? Nothing is cool about it. Does the news coverage serve a good purpose?
I am wondering, that’s all.

When you don’t have REAL FRIENDS, GREEDY PARENTS, BAD MANAGERS, and NO SUPPORT SYSTEM you will sniff any drug, drink any liquor and party your life away!!
Its a bad combo of TOO MUCH MONEY (do u think if they worked regular 9-to-5 jobs they could spend that amount of time and $$$$ doing the stupid isht they do?????) and TOO MUCH TIME DOING NOTHING (why aren’t all the young celebs in college — they can afford THE BEST SCHOOL,TEACHERS, TUTORS — why aren’t they at hospitals, community centers, schools — not during Christmas or for PR events but FOR REAL — DO WHAT REAL PEOPLE DO ON AN EVERYDAY BASIS TO LIVE — WITH .00001% of the money they have!!
I think its such bad taste to rub in the world’s face how they waste their lives, bodies, brains, money, and power. I am disgusted!!
I do think it’s a ploy. People who do something completely stupid in the public eye…end up going to rehab (or a 5 star hotel they CALL rehab) so they have an excuse for acting irrationally in the first place. I’m all for rehab if you have something to rehabilitate, but the truth is…IF these people (for the most part) do crazy things, it’s not due to alcoholism or drug addiction, it’s because there IS pressure at the top. A lot. Many of them like you’re talking about, have been famous since childhood. Their world isn’t like ours.
They don’t develop coping skills like the average person, so what they HAVE is more of a mental breakdown (not psychosis) from stress. They may really need the break…but a break for a mental or emotional issue could ruin a career. Rehab for substance abuse means that there was an outside force causing them to behave stupidly…and they were strong enough people to seek help. They don’t look weak in the public eye if they seek help for substance abuse…they look stonger.
Oh the sweet smell of SUCCESS. Now maybe the younger generation will wake up and see if you abuse your talents and let it go to your head you will end up without your celebraity. What is this world coming to??Sex Drugs addiction and loneiness is where you are headed. Where has the class and respect gone when being a celebrity gone. ??
I know, I think its really bad there setting bad examples for kids! There rich, why are they drinkin and doin drugs?! They could get anything they want. I just dont get it.
Maybe if more regular people followed in their footsteps and got themselves into rehab, we wouldn’t have things like the Virginia Tech shooting and the shooting at the Kansas City mall. I don’t necessarily think that rehab is such a bad idea. Do you want Britney going to the mall some afternoon with her homies and shooting up the place? It’s much better that she spend some time in rehab and get all that out of her system.
they want attention
well i think there all going for
a: media attention
B. actual medical help
c:to get healthy(start over)
d: media attention
well, thats just my opinion :]
Most celebrities are drug addicts and many of them art at the point where they can no longer function if they don’t do something. The life of a celebrity is demanding and especially in the case of musicians and entertainers they have a demanding schedule where they are having to perform almost every night and the nights they are not performing they are traveling between locations.
No the recidivism rates are not good for the clinics. It is however, the best treatment available. Perhaps if the news media instead of just making a splash when the celebrity went into treatment would do a follow up when they get out and go back on drugs and are a wasted junkie the media might serve a purpose.
Ha ha I wouldn’t complain too much they might come out early to try to “entertain” us, now thats scary.
