The story: Back when I was 15, I was put on both Klonopin AND Xanax by two different docs for an anxiety disorder I never even had (I ended up being diagnosed with BPD, hence the anxiety issues) They told me to take dosage X every day, at X time, so I did as I was told. And I was never told to stop taking them, so I didn’t. But I had no idea that a daily dose of these types of pills could become so severely addictive, so when I eventually tried to get off them, everything turned into a nightmare. I have since found a doc I have stuck with for 7 years and have tried SO many times with her help to wean myself off these terrible pills as slow as possible but because I have BPD, the emotional side effects always became too intense for me to bear alone. She has now suggested that I may need inpatient detox, so that I would have supervised care while trying to get off these benzos, so my question may sound very silly but, would a drug rehab center even admit me if I don’t abuse the pills?

My bf is a herion addict and he deperately needs help. He wants to get off but can’ t do it by himself. He needs to go to an intensive detox and rehab program. He doesn’t have the money or insurance though. Are there any facilities that take people on a “charity” basis? Or does the government set aside so mcuh money for cases like this? He is only 30 and has his whole future ahead of him. He knows he was an idiot to start doing it now. The important thing is that he wants the help and he wants to get clean. Any info. greatly apprectiated!
