Recently one of my family members acknowledged a problem with drug addiction. I have little experience with addicts and bought the Braschi book to educate myself and to be more supportive of the person in the treatment program. The Braschi book is clearly written and reasonably argued, but the content is very limited — hardly enough for a lengthy magazine article. I read the entire book in an hour. I will implement some of the suggestions and I feel it gave me a better context for understanding the problem, but there is nothing really new presented. It’s mainly common sense. Most of all, the book is very expensive for so little content.
