You can’t. He has to want treatment before you can get him into a facility. Otherwise, it is never going to work because he is not motivated to quit. You can help him by convincing him to seek treatment and then once he says yes, take him to the nearest ER where they will help him detox and find a place for him. But, he has to be motivated before this will ever work. He probably has to hit rock bottom first, losing his job, maybe losing his house, his wife, his kids, etc before he will ever consider treatment.

He has to want to go for it to be effective, sorry- and he has to sign a consent form for admitting. The only way someone can commit another person is if he goes crazy and is a danger to himself or others at which time you call 911 and they can generally take him in and admit him for observation and evaluation.. Try Alanon support groups for yourself they really have many resources than can be very helpful. I have been with many alcoholics in my family and I know what your going through, my sister is right in the middle of it currently and there isn’t anything I can do untill she is willing to get the help she needs.

You would be wasting his time. Go to al-anon or whatever it’s called. He will only quit drinking if he wants to do it for himself. And no, you can’t put him into a rehab center if he doesn’t agree to it.

It doesn’t work that way. This is not something YOU can do for him. He needs to realize he needs help and want to go on his own.
